INSTALLATION ON THIS CAT PUMP 1LX100:
Each CAT PUMP 1LX100 comes with oil in the crankcase ready for start-up. CAT PUMPS special premium grade, multi-viscosity crankcase oil should be used. It is recommended to install this pump in a horizontal position with the oil filler cap at the top. It is permissible to rotate the oil filler cap to the right or left, however, some oil spitting may occur. A rubber plug is inserted into the oil filler cap for shipping. This should be removed before operation. Do not operate pump with plug in cap. Flexible hose should be installed at the unloader ports. Connect a hose equal to or one size larger than the inlet port at the bottom of the pump body. Connect a high pressure hose to the regulator discharge port at the side of the regulator. Connect a by-pass hose to the bottom port of the regulator or unloader and run to drain or back to a “T” in the inlet line. CAUTION: Do not over tighten the RTP pump or regulator body.
OPERATION of the CAT PUMP 1LX100:
Once the inlet water supply is turned on and the pump is started, adjust the regulator at the top with an allen wrench or turn adjusting cap on the unloader to set system pressure. Do this in small increments until the desired system operating pressure is reached. The CAT PUMP 1LX100 are axial plunger pumps. Special direct-drive motors are secured to the pump with a V-Clamp Mounting. The optional Drive Mount Assembly is required for the belt drive 1LXB100 model. The motor on the CAT PUMP 1LX100 rotates the offset cam and guide plate which is connected to the three plungers. Each plunger moves forward at a different stage of the cam rotation, providing a smooth, forward, liquid flow through the pump. On the back stroke, the liquid enters the inlet chamber and flows through each inlet valve. As the forward stroke begins, the inlet valve closes. On the forward stroke, the liquid goes through the seat and forces the discharge valve open to allow the liquid out the regulator discharge port.

Liability on this warranty is on all non-wear parts and limited to the repair or replacement of any pump returned to General Pump/US which upon inpsection is judged to be defective due to workmanship or material failure.

Direct-Drive Misting Motor-Pump-Units CAT Pump 1CX05ELS.MIST ( 1CX05ELSPD501 ) and 8182 Motor (1/2HP, 1PH) Pulse Hose
OPERATION:
A pressure regulator is included with each 1CX plunger pump. The regulator is not pre-set at the factory. Set system pressure once the system is started. Start at the lowest pressure reading and adjust the hex adjusting cap in small increments until the desired system pressure is attained. Remember to service the regulator on the same schedule as the pump seals and valves. Refer to 1CX service manual for start-up, servicing of seals and valves, torque requirements and diagnosis/maintenance chart.
INLET:
It is recommended to install a flexible hose at the pump inlet. Assure flooded or up to 60 psi inlet pressure for optimium
performance. Install an inlet filter to remove standard water debris.
DISCHARGE:
All discharge plumbing for the 1CX pump connects to the
regulator outlet port.
PULSE HOSE MOUNTING:
Mount the pulse hose by installing a tee fitting into the regulator outlet port. Install the pulse hose into the top port. Coil hose and tie wrap as shown. Add nipple with a tee to mount pressure gauge. The other end of the pulse hose is plugged to capture the pulse.
Note: Without a pulse hose, the pump may draw as much as 2 additional AMPS above full load AMPS.
BY-PASS: The regulator by-pass is at the bottom. Connect a 1/4” flexible hose and route to inlet of pump, to tank, or to drain.
NOTICE: By-pass to the pump inlet is designed for cold water or ambient temperature operation.
DO NOT EXCEED 6 MINUTES IN BY-PASS operation. Excessive temperatures will cause premature wear or damage to the pump and VOID THE WARRANTY.
