General Pumps Kit 2 – K02 Oil Seal Kit

The general pumps kit 2, which is called K02 on most pump repair / breakdown manuals is for the piston guide repair of most General pumps.  The kit is officially knows as an Oil Seal Piston Guide Kit.

K02 or kit 2 replaces the three oil seals in crankcase behind the pump head of yor general pump. The crankshaft seal is NOT included in this repair kit that needs to be ordered separately. This kit is also a replacement for the Graco Kit# 801473 on 3040 and 3235 pressure washers you may own.

Part number 52040009 is a ceramic plunger repair part from General Pumps.  While it is called a kit, it is basically 1 plunger, and you will need to order 1 kit for every plunger your pressure washer pump has damaged.

The T991 is a powerful replacement Triplex style of pump from General Pumps.  The T991 is rated 4 gallons per minute with a maximum pressure rating of 1100 PSI.  For those of you that know General Pumps by their series this would be labeled a T Series 50 Pump.  This unit is so well built it is covered by a lifetime warranty from General Pump.  They put faith in the unit holding up, even under the harsh use most cleaners will put their pressure washers through.  General can do this because the forge the head of this unit completely out of brass, and use a specially formulated and die-cast anodized aluminum for the body.  Then, they couple this with solid ceramic plungers and packings or water seals that are totally self lubricating.  All of this, and more give you the peace of mind that your purchase of this pump will give you 1000’s of hours of work before you need to repair or even replace this part on your unit again.

Here are some basic specification of the T991 Pump:

  • The pump dimensions and weight are 9.3″ x 8.3″ x 5.4″  and 18.7 lb.
  • Crankcase has an non-detergent SAE 30W oil capacity of 15.2 oz.
  • Maximum speed of the item is 1750 RPM.
  • Horsepower minimum requirements are 3.6 BHP, that is 1.5 times greater for gas powered units.
  • A 165 degrees F. maximum liquid pump temperature.
  • This T991 Pump has a stroke and bore of .394″ (10mm) and .787″ (20mm).
  • The inlet ports is 1/2″ FPT and the one outlet port measures 3/8″ FPT.

 

This pump T991 is so well made its oil consumption is second to none.  In fact, General Pump recommends the following when it comes to your oil: “Fill crankcase to dot on oil gauge window per specifications with SAE 30W oil. Change oil after 40 break-in period, then every 3 months or 500 hour intervals thereafter”.
